Slack Communication with Pinch Estimating
To make collaboration fast, organized, and transparent, Pinch Estimating provides every weekly and monthly client with a dedicated Slack communication channel.
Depending on your setup and preferences, we’ll connect you using one of two Slack options: Slack Connect or Single-Channel Guest access.
Both options give you real-time communication with our estimating team — we simply choose the best fit based on whether you already use Slack and what level of access you need.
Slack Connect
Slack Connect allows your team to collaborate with Pinch Estimating directly from your own Slack workspace.
- Communicate with us inside your existing Slack
- No new accounts or passwords to manage
- Real-time messaging, file sharing, and updates
- Private, secure channel shared only between your company and Pinch
- Fast turnaround and clear communication history
Best for:
- Companies already using Slack
- Teams with multiple users collaborating on estimates
- Clients who want everything centralized in their own workspace
Slack Connect is included with most paid Slack plans and covered by your existing subscription.
Single-Channel Guest
If you don’t have Slack — or prefer not to connect workspaces — we’ll invite you as a single-channel guest into Pinch Estimating’s Slack.
- Access to one dedicated channel with our team
- Real-time notifications (same speed as full Slack members)
- Simple setup — just accept the invite
- No visibility into our internal channels or other clients
- Clean, focused communication
Best for:
- Clients without an existing Slack workspace
- Solo operators or small teams
- Clients who want minimal setup and only need one channel
Covered entirely by Pinch Estimating. No Slack subscription required.
What Both Options Include
- A dedicated communication channel
- Fast responses and real-time updates
- File sharing (plans, takeoffs, notes)
- Clear message history tied to your account
- Private and secure communication
Using Slack for Project Updates & Changes
Slack is a great place to share alternates, photos, RFIs, and addendums after your initial plan upload. This allows us to stay fully aligned and up to date on every project throughout the estimating process.
- Initial project plans must be submitted through the Upload Plans to Dropbox section on our website after completing the project submission form.
- You must submit the initial invite plans for each project we will be providing estimating services for.
- After the initial upload, all alternates, photos, addendums, changes and RFIs can be submitted directly through your dedicated Slack channel.
- This workflow helps keep communication centralized, organized, and tied directly to the correct project.
- Include the project number you inputed on the form for each project with all messages per project
How We Choose the Right Option
All weekly and monthly clients are provided one of the two options based on:
- Whether you already use Slack
- Your team size and workflow
- Your preference
- Slack availability in your organization
We’ll recommend the best setup during onboarding — and can switch later if your needs change.
